ABOUT OUR CHURCH

Vision & Mission

”Holding Forth the Word of Life; that I May Rejoice in the Day of Christ, that I have not Run in Vain, Neither Laboured in Vain.” Phillipians 2:16

Our History

The growth of Thika Road Baptist Church from 1965 until today can only be explained through the words that the Lord gave the founding missionary, Ed Weaver.  He and his family arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1962 as the first Baptist missionaries and rented a house in Garden Estate, near Braeburn School.

  9. Teens MinistryThe elders wish to inform the church that, following prayerful reflection, a need has been identified to strengthen the intentional shepherding and discipleship of our teenagers as they transition from Junior Church into broader church life.

In response, the elders have resolved to initiate a structured Teens Bible Class running during the 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. time slot. This ministry will be conducted in partnership with parents,  who remain central to the spiritual nurture of their children.

In addition, a Teens Bible Study continues to take place alongside other Bible Classes between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Members are requested to uphold the teenagers, their parents and the leaders involved in prayer.
